Project Description: 

The Rail to Dulles project -- dubbed the Silver Line -- is a 23-mile extension of the Metrorail system from East Falls Church to Washington Dulles International Airport, and then west to Ashburn in Loudoun County.  The first phase of the project, which will be completed in 2013, will extend to Tysons Corner, Virginia's largest employment center, and Reston-Herndon, the state's second largest job location.  

The construction project is managed by the Washington Metropolitan Airports Authority (MWAA).  Service on the new line will be operated by WMATA (Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority).
